Arabic Etymology?

I feel like the Latin word came from Arabic during the Renaissance period when Europeans were reading a lot of Arabic books. The word is almost the exact same in Arabic - جِنْس "jins." Anyone find a source indicating this? DivineReality (talk) 10:28, 18 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
